My car turned one year old yesterday and there have been two big problems that have made me pretty angry. The first is that like other manual rsx owners when shifting into second gear the grinding occurs and it is very annoying. The thing that frustrates me is that i had brought it in before and they somehow could not find the problem and just took time away from me and my car. Does anyone exactly know what is wrong with the transmission? I have heard it is the synchronizers but i am not exactly shure. Second is the leather seats. The first problem with the seats is that on the passengers side seat the leather has already started to crack and i have only had the car for 1 year/ soon to be 10,000 miles. Second is that the leather is starting to come out where the after market seatbelts/ harness is suppose to go. Has anyone else had the seat problem? and if so did you take it in?

i havent had that problem though ive only had my car 2 months, i just want to ask do you have your windows tinted ?

 

My car just turned a year too and I have and(had) the same problems. I say had cause acura fixed the gear grind but it's still there(not as bad as before). And the seats that black plastic cover on the headrest is coming off cause the clips broke and the leather is wicked cheap cause it has some cracks and scratches already

 

ya i have had my car for 2 months alomost and my seats are starting to crack a little bit and i do have that 2nd gear thing but only sometimes it grinds usually wen i just start driving but once it gets warmed up it doesnt happen as often

 

Man your cars are still babys compared to mine. I purchased my car sept. 12 2001 and have 48k miles on my car. And I too have had the same problems with my car. The leather sucks plain and simple, and that is why I am having them re-wrapped in type R cloth.

As for the gears this happened to me to and I just took it in when I have my allignment done with them. I complained about the gear shifting bad and a popping noise coming from my clutch when I started to shift gears.

They said they repaired something in the gears ( they told me it was not the syncorse) and I had a new master clutch cylinder head replaced as well. This is what they told me. 2 days later and my car was back and running strong and fine. Popping noise is gone and the shifting is fixed. Just take it back and ask them to inspect the problem more carefully. Good luck.

 

Damn trial user. Anyways no i dont have tints at the moment but i am thinking about buying them in the near future. f1inal zeros where are you going to get your seats reclothed? I will take my car in again for an inspection on the trans. / seats and hopefully i will get them both replaced. Or just the seats and get the trans. fixed. I will tell you what happens when i go for attempt number two to get my problems fixed.

 

we have an 02 type s that we bought dec 02 & teh car has about 40,xxx miles on it- we have the same issues & acura won't fix em
