Default 9" wide slicks...why eveyone use's 8" wide ?

Hey all iv jsut noticed that eveyone seems to be using 8" wide slicks.... why not 9" wide is this due to clearance problems or the fact you need speical rims ?> or part of racing / draging rules in the US ?

Regards James

I always have used 8" because i had stock fenders and that is about as far as you can go and still be able to turn. 9" wide and youll hit stuff. One peice front end is a different story
