Default Shift linkage/stabalizer question

Has anyone ever had a problem with their shift linkage/stabalizer combination on their b-series swap into a 92-95 hatch? Mine is hitting something, or possibly hitting each other. The main problem is going into 3rd gear. The shifter isn't centered in the hole in the chasis either. It sits about an inch too far forward, but what is even more peculiar is that the bolts all line up fine.

Ok, I pulled it all down tonight and have figured out that my stabalizer for some reason or another is about an inch too short. I have no clue how this happened but I do know that I am ordering a brand new one, hopefully this will solve my problem.
