question about b16's and compression
Ok the usdm b16 is 10.0 and the JDM is 10.4. the usdm b16 is 160Hp and the jdm 170hp. so the question is what would the approximate hp be with 11:1 pistons and 11.5:1 pistons? thank you for the replies
Everyones motor is different. You won't be able to get a good baseline without the other things that would help out i.e. cams. So do it and dyno and find out.
It would deffenetly bump the horse.. but not by much... If you went as far as 12:0...12:5 (CTR pistons).... you might be able to get somewhere around 10-15 horse... But it won't give you as much as you hope, not without other work... i.e. cams/headwork/bolt on's..... ect....

you will rev faster. raising your your compression is definately a good investment. my 12:1 CR on my ls/vtec beats b20vtecs at 10.5 CR(or around that range).
also what octane can you get your hands on. that plays a big roll with compression too

that is a common misconception
. ctr pistons are 10.8:1 cr. in a b16 they are slightly higher, about .1 or.2 is all though.
