question about the skunk2 short shifter

I have greddy sp and doesn't seem to have this problem. Yes I know it's not an N1.
After the install I thougth I screwed something up because it wouldn't move, turn out that it's just stiff. Speaking of bushing, I couldn't get the ring bushing connected to the transmission to go in.
I even tried to grease it
here is an install blooper picture. I thought that's where it goes.

There should be little washers or something in addition to the spacer, that should go on each side of the bearing in the shifter that prevents you from overtightening it. Since it has the bearing it will still be able to move no matter how much you tighten it. That's how it is w/ my generic shifter.
Also the actual shift linkage fork will take up some more space on that bolt.
