It will help, but there is much more to soundeadening than just installing some dynamat. There are also several viable alternatives to dynamat that cost half as much.

get extreme dynamat, there's nothing like it, it's the greatest thing ever, i bought a bulk pack, retail they're like 250 bucks, i bought it for about 70, but i used it all and did my whole trunk, my trunk doesnt rattle AT ALL, and it's a 4th gen prelude trunk, and those things are a BITCH, but i'm gonna buy somemore and take my car apart and do the interior rear deck, that's about the only thing that still rattles

http://www.raamaudio.com/products.htm

Check that out. $99 for 62.5ft^2 of 60mil Raammat. This is MUCH MUCH cheaper than Dynamat and works the same.

http://www.cureline.net/lex/raamsale.htm <- This is a link to a sale, but I am but I don't know if it's still going on.

I used the original raamat (~40mil thick I belive) in my own install and it works great. Another alternative is Peel & Seal, which can be picked up at your local home improvement store. It's not as thick (I believe that it's around 40mils thick), but it's cheap and it works.

peel and seel is ok (you get what you pay for). It is very thin and doesnt stick nearly as well as Dynamat. It also falls off it gets too hot.

lol really? i know regular dynamat you have to actually use a heat gun to apply, so i'd imagine it wouldnt fall off if it got too hot, i personally used xtreme dynamat and i love it, it worked xtremely well
