Drop your tire pressure to about 25-27psi in the front, as this will help you put a bigger contact patch to the ground and it will help your launches.
Like you said, drop the hammer at the last yellow light, I do and I net consistent r/t's of .6xx-.7.xx. This isn't perfect but you will get most people off the line and then they have to play catch up. I raced a brand new mustang gt at NED a couple of weeks ago. I got a .72x r/t to his 1.3x, and he only caught me near the last 30 or 40 feet of track. I ran a 15.007 and he hit 14.6.
Other than that, practice your shifting, making sure they are clean yet fast. Get that power down to the ground as quickly as possible and you might just net some decent times.

Reaction Times only matter if you're racing against someone and want to see who can get to the end of the track the fastest. When you're racing yourself for E/T your reaction time doesn't matter. Just make sure you're consistent with your 60ft.
If you're racing against your own time, whatever you do, do not let the light throw you off. If you are not ready, do not leave. The moment you come off the line is when they start to time you. So if your rev is not up or your just not ready, don't leave until you are. Being nervous will kill your E/T or even your motor. Trust me, I know.
