i have an 89 crx, and want the oem lip...however, my local dealer can only get me the 90-91 lip...will it fit?

I dont see why it wouldnt?? I think that the lower section is the same between the 2? But Wait for someone elses repsonse as well but I am almost positive that it will fit.

 

It should work but I'm not 100%. The only thing I think might be different is the mounting holes but that should be easy to make work

The front should work just fine, but the sides the 90-91 is a littel different then the 88-89, but im sure you could get it to fit.

 

what does the oem lip look like? how wide\long is it?

It's made of the same plastic as the crx side skirts.
It's flat black, it's only about 2-2.5 in. wide.
On the 90-91 you will need 11 bolts and clips to put it on.
88-89 the mounting points are different.
Oh, yeah the bolts and clips will cost you more than the lip.
And the only ones that worked for me were the honda ones.
My advice is try ebay or junkyard first. Especilally, if you not sure of fitment.
It's not worth $200.00, if your not even sure it fits.

there is a reason why ther eare two different ones.

You may be able to make it fit but its not goin to be rigth.. Just get a 90-91 bumper to go with..

I like the 90-91 better any how..

 

whats the differance other than corner lights, any pics?

 

The diff. between 88-89 and 90-91 bumpers is
blinkers and marker lights both mount differently
to bumper and maybe the lip as well.
The bumper cover itself mounts differently to the car and bumper support
underneath. I think grille area might be a little different as well.
And the 90-91 has fake air scoops under the blinkers.
I think there's more diffs, but I can't remember them off the top of my head.

 

the 90-91 lip will not fit very well on the 89 bumper. im sure itll work, but usually 90-91 guys use the 88-89 lips because the hang lower, the 90-91 actuall y lips over the bumper and doesnt hang low.

 

One other difference is that the moulding is a bit thicker on the 88-89 then the 90-91 or is it the other way around..I forget..but they are different.
