Default cam condition - good or bad?

how can i tell if a cam is damaged and cant be used? is light scratches, but smooth to the touch, that doesnt even catch a fingernail when run over it still good or is it bad?

whats the limit?

one trick I've heard of (but never had to use myself) is running a penny across it. That should tell you what you have.

If there are any questions, then take the cams and head past a machine shop and let them have a look. They deal with things like this daily.
