Default Updated pics of my cruise missile

I did some little appearance and comfort things in the past 2 weeks.

Got a light smoked ZG DB windscreen for my birthday (awesome wife).

Bought a trashed seat off Ebay for $20. Took it to Sargent's (in town) and had em cut some stock foam out and insert some of their supercell atomic foam stuff. then they recovered it along with a piping/welt to match the bike. Had em do the rear seat to match.

Polished the lips on the wheels. A little aircraft paint remover, some masking tape, some wet sanding, and Mother's polish. $20 polishing job, lol. Gonna paint the centers the same green as the bike when the tires need replacing.

I think that's it so far.

Here's what it looked like before

Here are the after pics:

Close ups of the seats.

Wheels look good. I think I like the polished look better than the painted wheels, though. But the seat is very tastefully done, so do whatever the hell you want.

Is the seat comfy?

looking good, how much did sargent charge to do the seat like that? I am thinking about doing something like that for my seat. I dont want something with a drastically different seat profile like the flat corbin or the angled sargent.

Do you feel a large improvement in comfort? I know the zx12's seat is pretty comfy stock anyways, at least it is more comfy that the 929. I rode my buddies red 2000 zx12.

Thanks
Steven

I'll be painting the centers green, and leaving the lips polished. So what's black on the wheel now, will be green. I saw it on one other bike and it looked awesome. The trick is getting the color to match as that green isn't the same as Kawasaki racing green.

So far I've spent all of 10 miles on the seat. Between rain, work, and house work, I've only gotten to ride twice in the last month. So far it actually feels more firm, but less uncomfortable, weird. I'll have to take a 100 trip to see. Hopefully it is, cuz I may be making a 1000mile trip to New York on it next month, lol.

The front seat was $180 total with the upgraded seat foam, carbon fx covering, and the colored welt. They charged me an extra $30 to do the rear seat at the same time.

So far it feels ok, haven't had too much time on it yet. The stock seat gets VERY uncomfortable after a while. 2002-2003 seats are much more comfy. I may try to get a torn up 02/03 seat and try it out.

thanks.

The turn signals and mirrors are next to go, literally. They make some mirror eliminator plates that have a small mirror that's actually inside the fairing.

*I just realized thats a friend of mine's 2002 ZX-12R*

From what I understand, on top speed runs, the mirrors actually cost about 2mph, lol.

Nice, instead of a view of your shoulders you're treated to a perfect view of your neck I've got the green spoked, polished lip setup. Looks nice at speed I'm told... whatever that's worth

That's what I thought when I first saw them on my friend's bike. The view isn't as good as with the big mirrors, but it's suprisingly good considering the placement and size. You have to lift your elbows as you actually look through/under them. Small price to pay I think.
