Default Air conditioning help

Well, the air conditioning on my D16Y8 still won't work even with a fresh charge of 134. It's holding the "coolant," the fan kicks on, and the idle jumps up. Any thoughts as to what might be the problem? I'd like to get it running cheaply for the summer, but if I don't get it running within the next couple days I'm ripping it out. No sense in carrying dead weight.

Thanks for any insight.

Perhaps, but I'm unsure of how to test it.

Any other thoughts?

Do you see/hear the compressor turn on? Same goes for the fan - is it turning on? Check the wiring. If all of those work, make sure your blower is working. Also, turn your a/c on recirculate and blast that on a warm day. See if you the low pressure line sweating. If you do, you know the lines are getting cold and theres a problem most likely near the inside of the car.

If you dont see the a/c comp cycling, meaning you see the clutch engage and disengage, then its the compressor.

You can get a leak seeler and tester at an autpoarts store for less than $5. It emits a red dye with leaks it can't seel.

Well, it seems it isn't holding a charge. And the parts to fix the leaks will most likely be expensive, so I'm just going to rip it out. It's no longer worth the time or money - especially when I'll probably take it out this fall anyway.

Thanks for the help.
