Default Prelude cluster in accord?

Not sure if I am posting this in the right forum either prelude or accord. But one of my buddies has a 2Dr 96 accord EX and wants to know if a 97 and up prelude cluster would work without any custom fabrication? Any advice is helpful thanks

haha...DeLiRi0u5

Don't be too intimidated, it isn't that hard....i think he totally rebuild and changed the harness in that image...

Only the cluster and the wiring needs altering behind the cluster...i will post up pics of mine when i can...

I got all gauges except for the speedo, and the oil light...that shyt stays on..lol

but clust looks great otherwise

mine is a type sh cluster (not sure if its any diffferent) but if I recall correctly, there was a blue/white wire for the VSS and a black ground wire. Im not sure how you are doin it, but I used the guage section of the lude harness and spliced into the accord harness wire for wire. I used the wiring books for each and began matching colors.

A bit off topic but how exactly do you take off the entire dash piece? Is diabling the airbags necessary?

so it was pretty much matching the accord wires to the prelude harness? sounds straight forward. was there any extra wires from either side? and how is the actual fitment of the cluster.. did it bolt right up or was there any mounts and brackets fabricated? thanks..

everything I wanted hooked up, I used the wires for. I chose not to hook up my seatbelt indicator. Anyway, its not a bolt up as much as it is a wedge w/ some filler black rubber. If you look lcosely you can see some very small gaps on the side that I put the rubber behind. other than that, it fits very well, and doesnt shake or vibrate any more than anything else on our 5th gens

he's rite...the cluster doesn't exactly sits in the accord cluster space, but you can shift around to get that perfect look...so it blends and you can't tell the diff unless you look closely...
\\

About the wiring..it's mainly matching...i didn't do the harness splice, because i got my lude cluster with the harness connector removed, so it was alot of electrical taping, which i need to clean up....I tried my best to connect all that i could, and i think i have the rite vss connected, but i will check again this weekend, but i also know that the speedo could have went bad...so that kills that idea...

great project especially for swapped accords
