where can i improve? and what can i expext next time???
yesterday i made it to the dragstrip for the first time.
93 si with b18c1 i/sk2 mani/h/tp/e/p/chip/ act prolite/act hdss/phantom grip
i was running on some terrible nitto 450's at 20 psi
temp was 80 and humidity at 68
best run was:
r/t .577
60 2.262
330 6.158
1/8 9.399
mph 75.15
1000 12.228
1/4 14.632
mph 93.48
ill be putting falken azenis on this weekend and next time ill be removing the full size spare, full size jack and the tools i had with me. all together about 75-80 lbs.
any suggestions on where i can improve to hit a 14.0 or maybee a 13.9999

Trap speed is the clearest indication of horsepower. If you're only trapping 93 mph on street tires, you're gonna need more power or lose some serious weight to hit the 13's.
i can lose abbout 100 lbs off what i was running at, and my tires absolutely suck. so im guessing that i can get my 60' down to a 2.1xx without a problem. im going to try to make it out on a day where it will be around 70 or below also.
right now i have my intake cam advance a few degrees for low end, but i think it is hurting my top end a bit, so ill put it back to zero and try that out also.

i also forgot to mention that my passenger side rear wheel bearing is completely shot. not sure if it will help my time or not, but im replacing it today.
i have momo buckets which are fairly light. with the bracket and harness it might save me 20 lbs.
then again i did go through the hassle of ripping my carpet, rear panels and sound deadening tar out to save about 25 lbs. so i guess ill rip it out also next time.
and i changed my cam timing back to zero and the top end feels A LOT beter. it seems a little less torquey below 4k, but it doesnt feel nearly as sluggish up top
i was actually leaving it in third coming through the traps a few runs, but i was revving it to about 8500. i think now ill be shifting to 4th by the 1000 mark.

With 93mph traps, I don't see <14.00 being possible on street tires. Maybe not even on slicks. Remember, most of the time when running slicks your mph will go down. You might cut a 1.8 or better 60', but I don't think you'll have the power to get where you want. Not unless you can get your car down below 2000lb.
im honestly just going to have to see next time i go. ill be about 100 lbs lighter and on better tires. and i know the top end is a lot better with the intake cam at zero than when it was advanced 3 degrees.
it felt like third was taking forever to wind out. now it seems like its still pulling past 8k.
im not going to run slicks, just falken azenis's. so all im hoping for is to hit a 14.2 in the 95-96 range. then its time to save for a complete motor rebuild

100 pound should get your mph up to 95. If you drop a tenth off your 60 you should go close to a 14.2. Keep us posted!
Unless I've been misinformed all these years, weight has very little factor on your mph. If you do nothing but lighten a vehicle, mph shouldn't vary much, but the et should steadily go down. Usually a gain in mph indicates an increase in hp.
IM GOING TO TRY TO MAKE IT TO THE TRACK ON TUESDAY OR THURSDAY NEXT WEEK. ILL POST UP THE SET UP I RUN, TEMP, HUMIDITY, TIRE PRESSURE AND OF COURSE MY BEST TIME SLIP
