Default My Mugen airbox - DC5

I have recently installed the airbox which is significantly bigger than the stock unit. Quality and finish as always is excellent. Throttle response has improved considerably and the car just feels alot torquier across the whole rev range. You can also feel the VTEC crossover alot more than compared with the stock unit.

Oh yeh the pics were taken before I installed the breather hose to the box so please excuse that. Im planning to get a catch tank in the near future.

Enjoy fellas. I hope Mugen release a Type S version for you guys (which should be soon)

Pics:

Nice

so how does the mugen airbox sound?
and how well does it work with the stock bumper (as opposed to the mugen bumper with the air inlet at the grill area)?

The size of that airbox is amazing in that engine bay! I love it. What does throttle feel like from 6-redline? I bet sound is just crazy though.

Also is your valve cover just painted or is it powdercoated?

the catch can shouldn't go there. it should bypass the tube going from the pcv valve and the IM. that is located on the right side of the IM. i see alot of RSX guys with the catch can setup you want, valvecover -- airbox. isn't that wrong though? i am not saying i am right, i just want to know if i have mine setup wrong. my catch can is bypassing this tube:

my catch can has quite a bit of oil in it. i have a clear hose running from the breather to my CAI and that hose is clean as hell. let's discuss.

The pic you have there looks like the PCV tube coming from the engine to the intake manifold?

The PCV (positive crankcase ventilation) is employed to prevent crankcase emissions. It works by routing blow-by vapors back to the combustion chamber through the intake manifold.

The small tube that connects the airbox to the valve-cover is the breather pipe. It directs fresh air FROM the airbox TO the valve-cover, going down into the crankcase and ventilates it.

But I don't know why people connect the catch can to the valve-cover, the blow-by vapors come from the crankcase, It's the air from the breather pipe that mixes with the blow-by vapors to be combusted.
