Thorttle Body Ported...?

Thorttle Body Ported...?
A guy from another board said he has a friend that has been a machinist for 9 years and can do throttle body porting for cheap. My question is before I get it ported, does the throttle body haved to be port matched with the intake manifold? so if you port the TB, does the intake manifold have to match too?
