Default Rebuilding motor, Q's on assembling

Well, after some costly mistakes at the machine shop, I had to purchase some 81.5 JE 11.5:1 pistons for my "poor man's type-r." The final CR should be close to 12:1 after decking and milling.

Hopefully I will get my pistons tomorrow and start the assembling. I would like to know if I should sand down the sharp edges of the pistons before putting them in?

Also, what do most guys run for ring gaps for the JE pistons? I have seen from doing searches that they should be = bore * .0045" to .0060" = .014 to .019. This is going to be an NA car, but it may see some N2O at some point.

Since the pistons have low silicon content, I know they will expand. That allows for greater piston to wall clearance as well. I have heard .003"-.004", what do you guys recommend? Thanks for any input.
