i was looking towards a used neuspeed unit for ~70 bucks...i heard that a non oem one could damage the tranny--ie gears?? duno....

would a shifter bushing be a good mod instead of the SS or matched to it?

jus curious

Neuspeed is supposed to be pretty good; haven't heard of many problems with them...also B&M SS's are good (both the edge and the pro-edge). Try to stay away from DC's though as a lot of people have snapped them. The bushings would be good with a stock shifter or a short shifter; might as well install them when you get a short shifter though; they're less then $20 and you'll be installing them at the same time anyways. Only reason why people damage synchros in the tranny is because they aren't used to shifting with a short shifter so they might grind more often then usual...just be careful and you'll be fine.

If you can get a hold of a Neuspeed shifter for $70 go for it, and if you decide you don't want it then sell it to me for $70.00.
