heres what happened.. i got my car back from teh body shop.. and i noticed my hand brake doesnt pull as high as it used to.. newayz.. so i drive home and everytime i stop @ a light. i smell this werid *** burning smell.. so i ignore it thinking its someone elses car.. i smell it again when i park the car and when i go out in the evening.. being concerned i called some frends.. and the diagnosis begins.. i discovered the smell is coming from my driverside rear wheel.. that rim was hot to the touch in comparison to the cool feeling of the other 3 wheels..
are my brakes seized??
some possiblities are that my hand-brake housing may have rusted?
or the caliper has seized..
oddly enough.. when i put the hand brake up.. i obvisouly cannot push the car with my hands.. when the hand brake is DOWN.. i CAN push the car.. which makes me wonder if it really is siezed..

what is everyones input on this??

can i still drive the car?? what should i do?

btw.. its a 93 EG Si (4 wheel disc brakes..)

 

i'd try adjusting the cable underneath the center console that connects to your e-brake. if that dont work i'd get it checked out. i'm not too familiar with e-brakes so thats all i can say.

 

I'd try jacking up that wheel and seeing if it spins freely with the ebrake off. If it's dragging definitely adjust it!
