Basic tech question: Crank bolt reverse thread?!
I'm trying to replace the timing belt on the D16a6 in my '91 civic Si, but for the life of me I CAN NOT get the crank pully bolt off. I have borrowed two air powered impact wrenches and tried good old man-power but to no avail. A couple of guys at work said that it might be reverse thread, help me before I break something!
Thanks guys (and gals)

NO! it is not a reverse thread, dont try turning it clockwise, it will probably snap the bolt. lol, you'd be amazed how much trouble people go through trying to get that bolt off.
try searching though, there are a lot of useful techniques you could try

Hey, thanks everybody. I appreciate all the info. I borrowed an impact gun from a coworker that is cast titanium and is guaranteed to remove a bolt tourqed to 1,000 ft.-lbs in less than 6 seconds, don't worry I'll start at the low setting! Again thanks for all the help.
