Will Type R Airbox Fit?
I have a chance to buy an airbox out of a 2000 ITR. It's the main airbox and the pipe that extends down into the bumper (missing the hose that goes into the intake manifold). I have a 2000 GSR. Will this be a direct swap with no modifications necessary? Will my upper hose & stock air filter fit the new box?
Thx.
Thx.

Yes. I think the only diff between the two is the rubber bellows. Go to comptech site and they have a forum in there just to be sure. Most questions get answered.

Don't bother with this.... look here...

You need the entire intake for it to make a difference, the resinator box is what's important here.

just do what I did, cut the resonator box up so that you still have a bolt holding it onto the frame, but the pipe will go straight out pulling from the wheel area.
I have two ways that I run this setup. with the filter box lid on, and the lid off. if it is raining, I take off the lid, voila it is short ram. if it is not raining, put the lid on, voila CAI.
I also cut the original filter up and put a K&N filter element on the remaining part.
it works well.
I don't have any pictures, but I can get some this weekend.

I've thought about this for a while, but the only difference I can see is the intake snorkle. I believe that you can buy an ITR spec one that gets air under the fender and replace the GSR one that gets its air from inside the engine bay. I think they're $27US from Acuracarland.
