Honda Oil vs Motu300V Pro Dyno
The only draw back is this oil is expensive. $10/qt. And the rate that I am racking up miles on this bike, I will be ready for another oil change in a month or two. I have since put 400 miles on my bike since the oil change (3 days). So right now I am at 2,400 miles in less than one month!
I have never been able to understand why I still see bikes that are a year older than mine with less miles

Yeah, the guy asked me if I wanted to buy the expensive Honda oil. After I got the price, I told him HELL NO! It still was expensive, but after talking to my friend I realized that I took the better choice. My friend (Who has been riding a while and is into fixing the bikes) told me that it is wiser to get decent oil that is cheaper and just change it more frequently. With expensive oil like Redline or any other company, yes it last longer... But there are pollutants that are released in the oil, so the longer you go without changing it, the more crap will be in it. (such as gas that isn't burned off and other junk)

RE DYNOED today with interesting results.
I have put 2,000 miles on the motul oil and ran it on the dyno without any decrease in power. So, now I am at 4,000 miles and I canged out the motul for the less expensive Amsoil 10w-40 and gained 1whp throughout the entire rpm range. So, now my current is 132.9 WHP...Bone Stock!...5.8WHP gain by synthetic oil.

Really, i cant believe you are thinking that the oil is whats giving you the power. Im sorry to burst the bubble sir, but it is not. Its the motor finally breaking in, the bearings seating, loosening to spec, the rings finally setting in....
WHy didnt anyone catch that.. Just because you are done with the break in amount of time does not mean the motor is at its fullest potential, or fully broken in....
Nice bike though.

Is that what you really think?
I went from 127 to 131.9 in between 4 dyno runs in the same day... how many miles is that on a dyno...? It's not like its 50-500 miles that might allow the engine to break in more. The only substantial difference between the runs on my first day, was the oil change. I did not go out and ride the bike for 500 more miles and come back to dyno... So, it is very probable that the jump from 127 to 131.9 was the switch to Motul synthetic oil.
The next dyno session was done 2,000 miles later, and thier wasn't any power loss or increase from my 131.9 with full synthetic. The only difference was that I had 2,000 more miles on my bike/Motul synthetic oil. I was actually surprised, and was hoping, that my bike would make more power since I have more miles (broken in). It didn't, though. So, we changed the oil, and the bike wen't directly back on the dyno, but it now had Amsoil synthetic. The dyno graph yielded an additional 1whp throughout the entire rpm band. The only change was the oil. I didn't go out and ride the bike for a few hundered more miles to "break it in" further.

kind of pushing the interval on the motul. Watch it when you start running the race weight oils. They aren't engineered to hold up to the hot/cold cycles and the long term acid buildup. Nice to see you have eas access to a dyno though
Now do me a favor and run 15w50 mobil1

I thought the race oils are high drain interval oils.... therefore, they react better to long term acid build up????

race weight oils are low interval. Usually heat racing. Acid neutralizers are present but not as much as in the average street formula. Endurance race oil is another story. Acid buildup also damages more in sitting time than hot run which race engines won't see. Think about how long a street engine has an oil package and compare it to a race engine. It's hours to months

So the oil gave you 3-5ewhp...no. It was probably the Co levels on the days, or the operator, or the bike being at such low mileage in the first place. Oils do not generate that difference. Even in SS trim a CBR will not show a gain that big.

My bike isn't the only one that has had this type of response. This same analysis has been done on serveral other motorcycles with a broad range of mileage between the bikes. Also, when I drained the amsoil and replaced with factory honda oil, on the latest and greatest dyno run, can you explain why I lost WHP? Is it because I now have too many miles on my bike?

The motor was still pretty new. Engines get a little bit stronger in time. Also factor in the weather and all the other variables, its hard to make a fair comparision. But I am a full synthetic advocate, I use mx4t in all my bikes.
