I ran at the crappiest track last night... with no traction. PMI in pueblo, colorado at ~5000ft. The track itself isn't far off from a really long parking lot with 1/2 functional lights.
I'm launching on some quickly wearing nitto555's on stock 14" steelies, GSR tranny /w a quaife, with the 2-step set at 4500. I floor the gas, and the car hooks up fairly decent (consistent 2.17 60's), but as soon as I hit around 5500-6000, the wheels break loose, and I'm forced to feather the throttle. When I hit second, same problem... 1/2 throttle to attempt to get traction (all on ~12psi /w my old DRAGIII t3/t4b). After I catch in the top of 2nd, I switch over to 18psi on the profec, and redline 4th. 12.7 @ 116.3. Somewhere at the end, I blew the intercooler piping (not sure how far off I was from the end of the run). I know there's more in this car than that... I definitely I need some slicks.
b18c, CP pistons 9:1 and eagle rods, in a '93 SI hatchie. Any suggestions? traction bars/drag launch coilovers/slicks? Any driving suggestions? It's getting really depressing having this problem

A 2.17 60' on drag radials isn't all that bad, you just need to step up to some real slicks, probably 24.5x8s on a 13" wheel. That should take care of the most part of your traction issues unless you're getting wheel shake, in which case some jim fab traction bars will do the trick.
If you want bite, you need slicks. John@M&H GOOD LUCK

That is going to be my next big investment. I'm trying to do some research to determine what wheels to put them on. I'm thinking about some 24x8x13's... I need to find a cost-effective wheel that I can fit on the car that will also fit the slicks.
