Stage 2 cam shaft
i have stage 2 skunk2 camshafts, and i wanna know if i can run the cam shafts without having to redo the ecu. i got a race im going to soon, and id like to have the new valve train installed. can i do it or would it be harmful?
In my opinion I would redo the springs and such to make it last longer and be more reliable. As far as the Ecu goes you could probally just take of the negetive lead and reset the ecu that way....
when you say redo the ecu do you mean have it chipped? if so, then no you don't have to chip the ecu to run new camshafts. However you do need to have the car dyno tuned and the use of adjustable cam timing gears is also a must.
I'm guessin that you will have these installed by a performance shop? If so let them know of your concerns and ensure that the car will be dyno tuned. If your installing them yourself............... good luck.

the problem im having, is that i dont know **** about the ecu. i know i need to upgrade, but can i get the factory unit reworked or can i use a piggy back system? Apexi VAFC??? or can honda redo my chip??? i simply cannot afford to pay 1000+ bucks for the aem unit but i also dont wanna try to cut corners and pay the price later. so i redo the ecu, how? and about how much will it cost. thanks guys.
