Default poor gas mileage. what could be the problem?

ok. my friend have a 94 ls (automatic). she's been complaining about shitty mileage (around 180 miles every tank). i changed the spark plugs, checked the timing..everything seems good. what else could cause shitty mileage?

damn. 180 a tank is really shitty. I assume you checked the air filter and tire pressure as well. Maybe it is just the stop and go traffic?

Also check your cap and rotor and possibly plug wires.

180 per tank: does that mean you are at 180 when the fuel light comes on? sometimes it comes on early, such as 180, and can go up to 260.

usually the prob to poor gas mileage is always the most basic of stuff. plugs, wires, cap and rotor, and fuel filter.

Like everyone else says....check air pressure in tires and clean (or buy) your air filter.

About a few weeks ago I went to the pump and filled her to the top. I have a 94 LS. After about two days I had to refill because I was at 1/4 tank. I was getting like 11 miles per galon. Like I was driving an H2 hummer. I check the everything. THe plugs are ok, filters, and everything else. When I check my fuel injection. And it was black as hell. I didn't even wanna try to clean it myself. I just took it to a local place had them do it for about 70 bucks. Afterwards. I was getting like 260 on ten gallons on a stock motor. Bro it's the fuel injections it must be dirty...

Dont' Change The Sensor! It's there to tell you that your car is having problem. Sounds like you just need to get a maintance if you have a poor gas milage. Depends if the car has high miles on it. Need to get your car Diagnose. And find out what's causing the sensor to come on. If you have a problem with a sensor use a digital multimeter and compare Spec's.

I was wondering about that...I had mine tune up wit most everything changed including the fuel filter, but gas mileage still sucked!! I used some Valvoline fuel injector cleaner and no luck...do those bottled fuel injector cleaner work at all?? or should I let the shop clean them??
