Bueller?
Bueller?

I know Bowie, Renee, and myself will be there. Anyone else?

PS - We'd bake ya a cake Bowie, but the kitchen is all packed up.
Will you settle for a McDonald's Apple Pie with a candle jammed in it?

Unless my house hunting runs long, I should be able to make it, though I might have an infant in tow. They have a coat check, right?

...and none of us are the "watch other people racing" type, so it doesn't make a lick of difference! (in my opinion)

Bowie - who would rather do almost anything than watch other people race....especially when some of them suck (F1 is different somehow)

lol

Well how about "hearing" them then. Hearing some uncorked 5.5L V12 550 Maranellos screaming by, heck hearing a couple of 360 Modenas or even some GT3RS is good enough for me! And when there are some cars that can turn laps in the low 1:10s at road atlanta, well it's pretty cool watching them go around, too. Oh and crewing for one of the teams makes it that much better.

Still, I want to hear results from the Andretti Karting Grand Prix. Who got spun off into the wall, who got the trophy and who went home all pissed.

I'll give you that...some of those motors sound incredible. That may actually be the reason I like F1... when i was at the Nurburgring, during the Ferrari Club of Europe's annual festival (outran an F50 on the big track in a Mercedes C180 Rental Car, ******!) I was able to actually hear both ferrari F1 cars doing demo rides on the GP circuit...every hair on my body stood up and I ran my out-of-shape *** up to a bluff overlooking the circuit to watch!

Way cool.

Alex, I think you are just crewing this weekend because you are a wuss, and are afraid of getting your butt handed to you at Andretti...hell, I think Giles might be able to take you!

Damn it man, what did I ever do to you? Next time you feel like stating such strong remarks, at least do it privately! Now everyone knows... thanks.

I'm gonna try to get there in time after the novice school. I'd rather drive myself than watch also.

OK Casey, you can come.
Looks like a few other non-HT racer types will be joining us as well.

This is shaping up to be quite a little square dance.

Scott, who has dibs on the fastest kart.

PS - If Muresan shows up, he has to drive with Towne's kid in his lap. Yeah... that'd do the trick methinks.

E~ Pretty funny you should see my car, that was the first time I'd ever been to that part of downtown in 13 years of living in Hotlanta. Had a late meeting yesterday at the Hurt Plaza. My kind of meeting actually, we met at the bar at City Grill, had a beer, and compared notes with some European types about certain public health issues....

[QUOTE]

Ah yes, the instability system!

Word of warning to anyone who ever drives the 'ring in a rental C180: Even when the Stability system is "Turned Off", it is not really off. If the car decides you are out of shape enough, it turns the stability crap back on. In mid-corner. When you have a beautiful drift going. Causing you to badly miss the apex you were previously arcing toward. Sending you off the outside. Nearly causing you to auger.

It is great.

Jack isn't quite 12 pounds yet. Maybe he should drive with something a little heavier, like, oh, say...Jack's car seat, for example. Better yet, make Alex SIT in the car seat. His skinny butt just might fit. And with the 5 point harness, the only downside is the little mobile hanging from it might interfere with his peripheral vision.

I think Bowie and Phatty (and pretty much every ITA driver in the country for that matter) will agree that Alex needs one of those little mobiles hanging from his cage. Pretty much directly in front of his face.

I'm thinking the Pooh and Piglet theme would be a winner. I hear Alex likes him some Winnie the Pooh.

Scott, taking pot shots at Muresan's youth because he's old and treacherous.

My 2.5 year old son, CJ, would be perfect for Alex -- he tips the scales at just over 30 lbs., he's very active and agile and would probably demand to help steer the kart, plus his incessant babbling and commentary ("what's that? what's that? where's the car going? look at the cars. look at all the cars. look at the fast cars. look at the silver car. look at the red car. look at the black car. they're racing cars, huh daddy?" etc) would provide a rigorous test for anyone's powers of concentration.

As part of my professional development regime I've taken a few minutes to be there with you visualizationally - I've already beaten you all real bad.

Scott, who is increasing in personal self confidence by leaps and bounds...soon I will be hunting wabbit...
