even if I only go with engine, ecu, tranny(lsd) it will be 2 grand after tax, this all seems a bit steep, but this is from a really reliable shop.
Would it be cheaper to get it shipped from import auto salvage ?

He also told me place racing mounts were far superior and if I used them the axles I would need would be stock instead of crafting my own, I didnt know axles depending on mounts.

Any thoughts would be helpfull, thanks !

those prices seem very high to me. what kind of mounts are those for $425 the way everything is worded they can just use e-bay junk and make a killing off of them. BTW I paid $65 a piece for my shafts with a lifetime warranty

looks about right - the engine price seems a little high - should be able to get axles for about $80 ea. - wiring harness a little high - the main thing i notice about it is that for any swap we always install new timing belt, new water pump, new thermostat, new pan gasket and front and rear seals, new cap, rotor and plug wires and highly recommend new valve cover gasket and new clutch assembly.

Yeah it confused me too. He was telling me Hasport used custom axles, which if Im using a crx SIR engine it says on hasports site I need to construct axles. but apparantly the place racing ones dont require to do that ? Im not sure : /

Modern Garage does *INCREDIBLE* work. They do the cleanest installs in the state and I have nothing bad to say about their work. They also have Cortney working for them who is the best tuner in the state. They also have an AWD dyno in house courtesy of Cobb.

MG will use all OEM parts and every bolt will be torqued to spec according to the Honda Factory Service Manuals that they have.

They are a bit pricey, but worth it for the extra quality you are receiving. If you don't want to spend a lot of money you could sure do it yourself, but then you have no one to bitch at if something goes wrong except yourself.

b16a swap - $1200 ebay or through most engine distributors
90-93 teg axles and intermediate shaft - $200
hasport vtec/knock subharness for HF/Si - $?? (not expensive)
cut the linkage the comes with the swap by 2&3/8" then re-weld it back together - $??
hasport billet mounts - $370 shipped on ebay
new waterpump, timing belt, clutch w/ pressure plate, distributor cap, rotor, fuel filter, misc. gaskets, 90-93 integ radiator hoses - $200-300??
doing the swap yourself and learning about mechanics - $priceless/free

btw, i'm in Orem and putting a b17a into my wife's 90 hatch in the next couple weeks. if you want to come check it out you're more than welcome.

I know they do awesome work, but reguardless I wanna do it myself, Im a good mechanic
I dont think they guarantee the engine unless they install it so it might not be worth paying extra, sinc eI have to pay shiping anyways

then by all means, do it yourself. the only advantage to buying your stuff from them is if you're having them install it all.

Here's the price for my swap.
B16 (1st Gen/no LSD) from Hmotorsonline = $2000 shipped
This included the Hasport mount kit w/shiftlinkage, and Teg front brakes
Install + labor from Intercrew Auto Salon = ~700
Misc. things I bought from Honda ie..water pump, T-belt, clutch = ~300
3,000 total out the door.
Swap was done in about 2 weeks.
That price seems kinda high to me.

Good God that seems high for a B16 swap. My buddy got his GSR Swap into an EG for 4300. And I think one of the local shops around here swaps in B16's for like 2800 total.

screw that- where I live I thought shop prices were steep - I was quoted $3500 including install- you can get teh swap, linkage, mounts - everything from HMO for WAY cheaper than that shop is charging man.

I agree with everyone those prices are high. If I read it right it was charging 250 for the conversion harness from an hf/si to the vtec. They can be bought for like 50 on ebay, or just make it your self. Plus after doing it yourself, you know the car.
