they sound great. if you get them for less than retail, they are either....used, refurbished or b-stock. kicker is price protected so beware of any "cheap" sales and make sure they come with a warrenty.

This is not true, many of the times it is though. But then again i did buy L5 and not L7s. I bought my solobaric at 115 a piece out the door and they are not refurb, bstock or anything like that. i bought mine in Januaray 10, and they were already the 2003 model. althought they could have been bstock i high doubt they were sealed in kicker tape and this stuff. so far so good.
As far as the L7 goes i think their worth the money, the only problem they need a strong amp to power them. L7 run for 150-170 you should be fine with one.
it depends how loud you wanna bump if you want to just have a good sounding bass then 1 12" sealed should do the job. if you buy the kicker box it will sound twice as loud but its twice as big as a normal box.
what amp do you have or plan on getting.
i would recommend
1. jl 500/1 $400
2. kicker 600.1 $230

The solobarics are good but need plenty of power. Not very efficent speakers... but do sounds really good with lots of clean power....

From what i've heard, the L7's do hit hard, but that's about it. It's not the cleanest nor refined bass, though. I haven't heard the L5 next to the L7, but in another car, the L5 definitely sounded much cleaner and tighter.
