Need help with tires, which one gets more traction?
I'm going to the 1/4 this friday and I'm wondering if I should put my Daytona ZRs or HRs on the back? (2000 Mustang GT). I'm wondering if you guys know which one has more traction?
I'm goina get new tires when I get new wheels but these will have to do for now. Don't ask why they put two different types of tires on my car but... THEY DID!!
Thanks!

Hay Kook: John@M&H. I am going to tell you a story. Back in the 70s 80s & 90s marvin came out with the first D.O.T. Certified street & strip Drag Racing Tire it was so big we could not keep them in stock. What racer would do is put the stock tires and rims on the car and when they went to the track they would put the good rims and M&H on, but the hole concept was you can drive to the track and be street legal but that is what they did. Now this is a Bias ply tire not a radial, a radial is more stable down the track but you loose tracktion. The Bias ply is like a slick but with tread on it, it's like a reg-street tire but in a bias ply and we have never had any problems go down the track with it. Maybe racers dont know we still carry the tire. Well I just wanted to tell a little story, GOOD LUCK and Have a safe 2003 season. Thank You John@M&H P.S. You can check out the dot tires on our site if you want. Go to mandhtires.com or mapautoparts.com they go to the same site and that is us and click on racing tires and go to the DOT, and you can buy direct from us or buy online.

Well call me crazy, but "usually" a ZR rated tire is probably going do have a softer compound, more aggresive tread design and temp rating then an HR rated tire. I guess I'd run those in the 20ish psi range.

Yeah, thats what I was thinking
While rotating my tires I see on the front... "Treadwear 400" (the HR), then I have the rear one right next to me, "Treadwear 300", I'm thinking to myself, well theres a simple way to figure out which is softer

DOT something like a 225 50 16 would be a dream tire...
i wish your father good health, everyone seems to be in the hospital lately...

This woould be a perfect size....Any chance you will end up making something like this? I wish you guys came out with a wider selection of DOT tires...Im sure they would outsell the BFG and Nittos...Just make em stickier than the BFGs...
