Default ------//> Cruise Control Switch causing HORN BUTTONS not to work.. why??

So, I broke my cruise control switch trying to figure out how to take it off. In result, my horns now dont work. I dont feel like buying a new cruise control switch so is there a way to make the horn buttons work without having the cruise control switch there? Anyone have any experience with this. Thanks!

you blew a fuse, you need to check under dash fuse no. 13 (10A) and no. 14 (7.5A), then check under hood fuse no. 41 (15A).

All those fuses are fine. For some reason, when I plug the cruise control switch back in, the horn buttons work. When I remove it, horn button no worky.

The cruise and horn actually share a wire inside the steering wheel (I think it's a ground). It's kinda funky how they are on the same circut. In cars with wheel mounted audio controls, the audio control is part of the whole shebang as well.

Ah, so how would I go about fixing this problem which doesnt involve buying another cruise control switch?

you would have rewire the ground elsewhere, if i'm not mistaken. You will need a wiring diagram to find out the common ground they share and which way the current is routed. If it goes from the horn through the switch then to ground you could just ground that wire elsewhere.

you may have shorted out you clock spring (sometimes called a cable reel), it's the thing that allows your electronics on the steering wheel to function at all times, it also controls your airbags...... your SRS light isnt on is it?
