Rubber housing underneath CAI...
Turns out, it's been dragging under my car for a few miles...it seems to have fallen off? Is it ok to rip it off, exposing my CAI completely? (Just cant drive in rain at all lol)
If you are talking about the splash shield I would not run a CAI. A lot of the people who have hydrolocked did so because they were not running the splash shield.
the rubber shield service a purpose. More so with a CAI installed. I always get worried when it rains a lot. Probably more if my rubber shield was torn off. Better get a cover or something to prevent debris and water from getting on the filter.
omg...
i took mine off... i stalled my car before with the splash garud driving in the rain, i jsut pulled over, and soaked up all the rain within my cylinders for about an hour, then she fired right back up... i took the splash gaurd off because it serves little to no use.
the only side affect is the filter gets a little bit dirtier. but at the same time its sucking up "fresher" air so you take your pick, crap air, or good air.

ps, this was back in my N/A days
