Default How difficult is it to maintain a turbocharged car?

I 'm having a hard time deciding on what I should do. I am going to be a college student soon so I don't have a lot of money.. I would just like a fun car on the side, nothing too serious.

1. Buy a 99-00 Si and just add I/H/E

2. Buy a 99-00 EX and turbocharge it.

I was wondering how hard it would be to maintain the car. How long would I expect the turbo to last?

Regular oil change, tuned and nicely built turbo car with GOOD parts and not beat on all the time and you'll be fine. It's all in how you take care of it. Just b00st the EX, if it blows you can always get a cheap motor to put in.
