Free Horsepower '00 GSR
Has anyone ever tried cutting off the air silencer? I just cut mine off inside the wheel well and attached the pipe to the filter box with screws. It seems like 5-7 HP and a much nicer sound. Sorry if this has been posted before. (I'm a former DSMer, and couldn't find any posts)
you have a very sensitive butt dyno...which is probably mostly effected by the increased sound of the intake and probably added 1hp at most

CAI adds 8-12 hp, header 5 hp, exhaust 5 hp.
My GSR dynoed 155 whp which translates to about 185 HP with i/h/e. I think you read too many maggazines!

How much horsepower do you really think headers give you on a stock honda (just like the cheap brands like DC, neuspeed...) what about your average exhaust, and AEM intake. I was always curious what individual gains these give you. It is way less than they say in their adds. I know that some magazines do product reviews and dyno them. They always ended up spending like $1300 for 8 hp and 6 ft pounds of torque. Butt dyno is usually higher than real, but the butt dyno helps me determine if a product is worth it or not. 205 hp with bolt ons is good hehe.
