whats wrong with my car..

ok from what i am getting is that in fifth gear your car wont go past 5000rpms, right? There is a thing called an aerodynamic wall (hypothetical) its basically when you cant go any faster, the wind pushing against it wont let the car go past a certain point when the aerodynamics on the car just stop working and it becomes a wall that you need more power than a k&n can push for you.

honestly i dont know what to tell you. you are increasing the airflow so the car is leaning out more in the higher rpms/speed. the stock airbox will reduce airflow and cause the car to run a little richer in the higher rpms/speed. maybe thats whats goin on

I kind of doubt that he is getting that kind of restriction from the wind I had my automatic CRX DX up to 110 MPH and then I lost power maybe if I went down hill? But this was also going against the wind.
He would have to have a lot of wind force to stop him only going 90MPH.
Did you have this problem before the K&N filter? Did you oil the filter before you put it in? If so maybe you over-oiled it (If thats even possible??) or maybe you knocked something off when you were putting it on??

So what would happen if you put it in fifth? What are your RPMs at 130mph in forth??
