GSR shifter in 89 EF hatch?

any modifications for a 3g gsr shifter to work in a 4g civic hatch?
anyone done this ...easy?
any problems?

I think that you can do it w/ changing the bushings & all. My B&M short shifter is for civics & tegs- so I would think so.........
