J's Racing is a very reputable performance parts producer....so yeah, i'd think their R&D would be up to par on this 5 year old intake....

as for the copy, as long as it has the EXACT same shape and dimensions as the real J's racing *****, then yeah it's worth the $$

The real one is CF and weighs like 2 lbs. The fatness utilizes any and all space available where the intake sits and it should not need a bracket since it fits so snug(at least the real one does). As far as performance, I'm guessing the difference is minimal.

the "fattness" is to create a venturi effect...

velocity of air is increased when going from one large area to a smaller one...

I emailed the seller and asked for dimensions.

Can someone post the diameters of the filter and throttle body sides of the intake tube?

42 bux is a steal on any intake, especially one that at least appears to be like the j's racing intake.

If you have a ITR motor in a Civic it should fit.

CIV616,

Could you measure the intake inlet and outlet diameters in mm? That way we can compare them to the J's intake.

Thanks in advance...

not for the civic , even the real J's one is ABS , the ITR one is CF.

Right, J's offered the ABS ones originally. They actually have one for the SiR in ABS or cf, looks just like the one pictured above, except it's black, and not sure about the dimensions. I got info on it a few years ago from Yasu of ATS USA.

actually it uses the bernouli principle, not venturi just an fyi

venturi principle is what they use in F1 and race cars where they make the bottom of the car as clean smooth and flat as possible and then have lips and such in front and rear diffusers to keep the car on the ground (look at underside of an f50 or enzo)

You're right. My friend has an ITR/hatch so he bought the ITR appl. and it fits perfect in his eh2 bay.
