Default GSR is gone.. time for a new car... Type R or LS turbo?

Hey guys,

Been quite awhile since I posted (Last time was actually when I crashed my car) - Went through alot with my GSR, but it's gone now I got some insurance money for it and sold the rest of the car after the accident.

Right now I'm thinking of two things..

Type R or LS turbo

I've always had 'older' integras, started with a 95 LS then a 94 GSR - I'm obsessed with them, and I do planf or my next car to be an Integra...

I been looking at LS' 98+ for the newer body and I been considering getting one of those and just turboing that bitch.... but like many people on this board, I guess my 'reachable' dream car is a Type R but I'm not so sure if it's all worth it..

Way I look at it is..

Pros:

Beauitful car
Rare, hardly see one on the street
Quick and decently upgradable

Cons:

INSURANCE
I don't want a sign on my back that says STEAL MY CAR - chance of theft is very high, blah..
LS turbo will be much faster and could look just as nice...

Dunno, what do you guys think?

Get neither. There are lots of great cars on the market. What is your price range?

otherwise, get something else altogether.

LS turbo, for the same reason you mentioned, don't want to advertise a Type R "steal me".

IS 300 Turbo..... I had to put in my 2cents just because that is what I want. One more year of college and sell my GSR and thats what I am going for.

i think it all depends on what your goals are. if you're looking for something that's really reliable and quick stock w/ minor mods, then go for a ITR. butif you're just looking for a everyday ride you can get a LS. the theft thing with ITRs is crazy, so i would stay away from ITRs. beautiful cars, but i don't think i want to go through it. i actually have a LS turbo right now. it's a very fun car to drive. i like my LS turbo, but i'm about to take off the turbo and build a LS/vtec. i'm leaning towrds road racing, so i'm gonna take that route. pm me if you have any questionf on ls turbo

Well..

I dunno... one of the reasons I don't want to go with the Type R is the insurnce and the GSR is not far from it in terms of that. I'd love an R, but I was one picky bitch about where I parked my car, how long it stayed where, taking **** out of it everytime I parked it at night with a 94 GSR.. I can't imagine the pain I'd go through with a Type R..

Thanks for the opinions.. far as the other cars like STI, etc - out of my league for now.. has to be sub 17k..

If you want reliability a Type R motor will be a lot better.. Are you going to get a 98+ body and swap a Type R motor in.. that would be the way to go .. no one would know there was an R motor in there.. and get a nice security system

LS/TURBO is fun and the most reliable turbo motor (stock) IMO .. I'm sure others on the board will agree..

LS is less insuracne

Type R worth it .. (just soo much fun on a road course or backroads..)

I love my GSR for backroads man.. and I'm sure you agree because of GSR.. think of 20 whp more stock .. isn't that fun? ..

Cant complain about either.. so go for it
