Default 87 vs. 88 CRX

1. I have noticed that everything around seems to be for 88 CRXs. Is there any parts from a 88 that can be used on a 87 with no or slight modifications (i.e. exhaust, shocks...)?

2. The CRX I got had nailed a big pot hole and cracked the fenders and the front bumper doesn't sit straight (previous owner). Is there a way I can replace the front bumper, fender, hood with 88 CRX parts?

3. Aside from the engine are there any stock parts from other hondas that can be swaped onto the CRX for better performance? I'm going to my local auto salvage yard and I wont to know of some thinks to keep an eye out for.

BTW I have been a CRX owner for 6 days and know almost nothen about them.

i dont think any of the parts would work...i believe the 87 crx are carborated stock motors...where the 88 and up are all fuel injected....u could drop a motor in from a newer crx but if ur gonna do that just drop in a DOHC b-series motor...as far as body parts noe will fit unless u start customizing the work...the cars are too different 87 are smaller...

'87 CRXs are the old body styles. '88 CRXs are the new body styles. It was basically a redesign of the entire chassis, so I doubt anything would work... sorry.

Brakes and suspension from a 1986-1989 Acura Integra will bolt right on.

Thanks Gasoline Fumes, that's the kind of info I was looking for. I feel like such a fool for selling my old 87 teg. I should of kept it for parts for my CRX (still have the ECU from it).
