Default How can I tell if these are really Enkei RP01's?

I remember reading a post about RP01's a long, long time ago in the Type R forum but I wasn't able to find it searching. It seems like the R owners are a lot more knowledgeable about this type of thing so I figured I would give it a shot.

I just bought a set of four rims that I think are Enkei RPO1's. The guy I bought them from had no idea and was selling them as "Aluminum Wheels." The problem is there aren't any distinguishable markings on the rims and they have new center caps.

The only thing stamped on the backside of the rim is:
98 0422 B2 4 100

That's all that is stamped on the back of the wheels. Nothing else anywhere else on the wheel, front and back.

The rims weigh ~15lbs, measure 15x7", and have a 4x100mm bolt pattern.

Here's a link to a picture of the rim:

I paid $270 shipped for all 4 wheels and they're all in pretty good shape. Even if they aren't Enkei RP01's I'm still going to use them once the A520's on my K1's wear down. But I was just curious and figured this might be an interesting question.

Maybe someone has some old Enkei's or Enkei RP01's and can tell me if there's anything stamped on their wheels.

If they're 15 lbs, 15x7, and they were 270 shipped, I wouldnt care if colorado customs made them. Good find. . .

I know Nothing about those rims.

All I do know is that my Enkeis had ENKEI stamped on them.

But, yes for a good find.

Once again, this what the RP01 looks like...

Not that it matters, but it looks like yours are knock offs, note the Enkei stamp on the spokes, and the ebay ad doesn't really mention the Enkei brandname anywhere.

ALL Enkei wheels have an Enkei stamp with their sideways 8 infinity logo either on the spoke or on the hub.

But either way, I think $270 shipped for 15lb 15x7 wheels is a pretty good price.

Thanks for the info. For what I paid and for daily use they're good wheels. I was just curious that's all. I'm not even sure if I'll ever use them because I like my K1's and my Black Racing Pro N1's so much. But oh well, can't hurt to have nice set of 15s sitting around. ha ha ha...
