Default Tranny Question

I'm trying to get a 5 speed swap and I've found a Type SH tranny for sale with atts for 700 bucks. My question is can I use the transmission without the atts or should i look for a base 5 speed?

get a base 5 speeds
there just too much wiring for ATTS
adding this and that

base 5 speed with some good syncros
gear set
and a fine LSD will do you good

I don't want atts, could i not just take off the atts and not worry about it? I thought base and the sh had the same tranny just atts was added. **** that pisses me off if they are different. Please tell me they aren't and i can have a nice, clean, easy swap.

ya might have to register to view the board
but there's a good topic in "prelude" about tranny

and no ATTS is an add-on take it out
the only tranny that differ is the M2B4 LSD's and non LSD's
good luck

i believe the SH tranny is different. It cannot be used on a base block, the SH uses a special block that fits onto the tranny, the SH tranny will not bolt on. Correct me if i'm wrong

the SH tranny won't fit without the ATTS unit, and probably axels. Someone should correct me here.

Anyway, if you are doing the swap for a 5th gen, you should get a base model transmission. Try to do what I did and get a 4th gen transmission with low miles on it. The 4th gen gears are shorter (faster acceleration).

Do you need the 5speed guage cluster? I have an extra one for 5th gen. let me know.
