Bought a 97 JDM ITR head, didnt think about it not coming with factory cam towers, has anyone here ever had a set of v-tec caps (b16, b18c1, b18c5) mounting surfaces shaved then the cam bores re-bored to the factory diameter to repair problem, similar to what some blocks have done on bores
From what I understand you have to have the cam towers that actually came with the head from the factory to use the head again or buy a set of cam towers off of si, gsr, or type r and have the machine work done. thanks.

All cam caps are specific to the heads that they originally come with. They are machined to fit each other, so to speak.
I believe to get another set to work you need to grab another set and have everything "line bored".

Depending on how much you get another set for and the cost of machine work to line bore and if that would even work to factory specs, you could maybe find another complete ITR head minus cams for around 700-800. But you did already drop the $$ on this head

Yeah I realize that, and I'm saying you already spent the money on it.
