Going to pick up my new 99 civic si today, I can't wait. I was so tired of the 4door that when i spotted the si at the dealer I couldnt resist.... I just had to have her.... the only electron blue car in the lot.....
I only drove it once, so i wasnt able to open her up.... but she only has 26K on her... mint condition.... Just thought you all should know
When i do a B20 bottem end swap, I can actually say i have a some what fast alll motor si

yea you should have kept your 18 second 4dr cause that massive 250 lbs will save you a couple tenths of a second down the line
anyways good luck with the car and enjoy it..it maybe be torqueless but its still fun to drive around town

I wanted a Si but I couldn't afford insurance. Sucks being 18. I'm stuck with the EX but not complaining. Good luck with the new car bro.

jo0 my lil friend are a retard. Im sure that there is a price diffrence from a 97dx to a 99 SI what maybe 3K or even maybe 4K. With that money he could of bought himself a gsr motor and turn that 18 sec 4dr into a low 14 to high 13 sec car just like i did.
Please think before posting thanx. and have a nice day.

I ****** love this car... IT pulls so much harder than any honda ive ever been in, of course im in upstate new york, good luck finding one of these around here... the main reason i bought it is because its just, HOT!! I love it... I know its heavier and i could tell, but it has so much more potential... I paid 10K in the end with my trade in.... which wasnt that much, 26K miles....

True, very true but how many times do you come across a electric blue 99 si with 26K on it??? besides, im young and have 2 jobs, its not like i can't afford it
don't get me wrong, i loved my 4 door, and i was going to swap out the motor, but I wanted the si look, just because i love it.... so I bought it
The color sold me hands down.

Yeah EBP is quite possibly the best looking color EVER on any car...it rivals BMW's Laguna Seca Blue (I think that is what it is called). Another thing is that Si's are somewhat rare...so to me it puts them a little higher up on the Honda food chain than a 4 door.
i would take Si over 4 door. the only bad thing i see is the extra 250lbs. it does sounds like u liek this car because the color owns you.
it owns me too. man this makes me sick wish i was older so my insurance would be cheaper.
1. b16 - lots of potencial
2. disc brakes already
3. power windows and locks, man wish i got a CX or EX now.

Hahaha. . .I never thought I would see a post where having a 250lb disadvantage isnt bad. Seriously though, 250lbs is ALOT, a whole lot. People spend alot of money on FG front ends and the like to lose 250 lbs.

i love my four door, and i love EG's more than ek's period, but i'm not going to start an EG vs. EK battle either
BUT...you're talking about how the si "pulls" harder...eg's with d16z6 swaps are about even with si's...and i agree with redskoolingbus that you could have saved your 10k and dropped that into a gsr motor, nice suspension, and wheels and have a car that looks better, handles better, and is about 2 seconds quicker in the quarter than an Si

Once again people on this board forget that there is more to life than quarter mile times.
Congrats on the buy! The car has really low mileage. I've got 49,000 miles on my 00 Si.
