what are my best options? remanufactured, used?
i'm thinking if i pick up a used one it will leak too. anyone else have this problem?

i picked up my current remanu. A/C compressor from the local autoparts store (Autozone). just tell them that you need a matsushita or sanden (depending on what you have) for a 88-91 civic.

how much did it cost you?
also did you get the matsushita or sanden? i think i've been hearing sanden is better?

honestly i don't remember. price one from Honda first though. i don't think new compressors are much more from Honda.
but about the compressors. neither one of the compressors is better than the other, Honda just felt like sticking Sanden compressors in some civic/crx's and Matsushitas in the others.
you really need to get what came with your car. the reason is because the A/C line hook-ups are in different locations for the different compressors. we recently talked about this in this post....
