It doesn't look like the original coating that honda puts on its valve covers. My best guess is that someone took the original coating off, painted it with normal black paint, (non-heat treated) and just time and temperature cracked it.

How long have you had the car? Did you buy it stock?

i got the car about a month now, at first i thought it was heat, but then i started thinking and it seemed weird that it was like that so i thought that maybe it isnt the original valve cover, would that happen to a original vlave cover? i haven't seen any like that yet so, why would they change it ???? i dont know but the car had the lights replaced, so now im thinking, maybe it crashed...

u guys think this vlave cover let's you know anything about the engine itself?

He could have used paint remvoer or somehting to get the original coating off, then painted it over. Throw some paint stripper on there then paint it or clear coat it. Those wires definatly say something about the engine I say everything looks okay. Got a pic of the entire engine bay?

Long-term heating and cooling would do that to a paint not made for the conditions.

that valve cover was repainted black,...im guessing he might of used high temp paint but he didnt prep it right or something,..its just peeling off due to the high heat,...just get some paint stripper,..strip the old paint off,..give it a nice sanding,..repaint with some high temp heat that you can get at your local autoparts store,..and it will be back to blinging,..good luck
