00 civic si radio into a 92 civic cx
My friend with a 00 si just got an eclipse head unit and gave me his Stock Si CD player. I have the code and all that jazz. I have a series of questions, please help. Here is the back of the CD player:
And here is the picture of a 00 civic radio harness that I found I can buy online:
So my question to you is what is the clip on the left for? Can I use the CD player without it? Thanks a lot

I thought it was keyless entry related, but I could be wrong regardless, you don't need it, but yeah, that little harness is how you do it, that's what I did.
yep, for cd changer
the 99-00 has a separate unit for keyless...unlike the 96-98...bastards...I wish I knew that when i first changed my headunit and wondered where my keyless went...

Or he could just rewire his existing wiring to that harness. There really are multiple ways to go about it. If someone made a conversion harness and it fit behind the radio nicely thats what I would do.
Then again, I really hate messing with stereo wiring

</TD></TR></TABLE>HARD Wiring? How so? I already have the clip that plugs into the stock harness so I don't have to cut wires, and I should be getting the 00 civic clip tomorrow in the mail. The only wiring will be hooking up the 00 civic clip up to the aftermarket adapter. Thats not hard at all. Stereos in themselves are not hard wiring. <------ Jeff who used to have 16 speakers in his civic and now has 2 w/ no interior
