My friend with a 00 si just got an eclipse head unit and gave me his Stock Si CD player. I have the code and all that jazz. I have a series of questions, please help.

So my question to you is what is the clip on the left for? Can I use the CD player without it? Thanks a lot.

 

not 100% sure, but pretty sure the one on the left is for the factory tape deck, i remember wokring on some civics with factory tape players at the bottom of the console, but i cant remember if that's whta the plug looks like

 

YEs all you need is the one harness you posted..

Actually, i may be wrong, but i believe the other plug is for the factory alarm/keyless entry.

 

that could be it, i know the civic ex's had their alarms and keyless tied into the radio and you need a t harness to make them work and you had to keep the stock headunit in the dash, damn, it's a pain in the ***, lol, but yea could be that, now that i think about it, the tape deck isnt even a harness, it's a plug, so yea, i think it's the keyless/alarm
