Default some ?'s about ZC, or a b16a into 90 civic SI hatch

im looking to get a swap for my 90 SI hatch i just got
i would like people comments ,,or experiences with eaither swap,,
or is there a better swap??

i know the ZC u can use the stock SI trans

and i know the b16a, u need a mounting kit,,do u recommend 1 kit over another??how many kits r out there to mount this in the 90 SI???

what kinda times will i b looking at with the basic I/H/E for both swaps???

also when buying a header or CAI for these swaps,,what car should be looking at for after market parts for

u know what car r these engines coming out of??
are there different ZC's and b16a available, meaning,,do some have more HP,,then others??

also 1 last question

i have a 96 GSR
a 94 DX hatch
and 90 civic SI hatch
which one would u all go with at making a really quick car??
here are pics of my teg,and 94 civic
sorry kinda bad pics http://albums.photopoint.com/j/Album...a=13418772&f=0

i want to look into a vortec SC(when they come out for the GSR)
or maybe a turbo for my GSR

i want to swap a GSR engine in the 94 hatch

and im trying to choose between the ZC,,and the b16a for the 90
i kind of want to make 1 of my cars low 13's in the qrt,,,but the other 2,,can be mid 14's ,,thats not asking for much is it??heheh
what should i do??

thanks mike

i know that the ZC is a direct swap. meaning you dont need new wiring or transmissions or axles. [due to it being the engine in the JDM version of your [our] car[s].

the B16A enigne is a very widely used engine coming from the JDM SirI to the present day in the 99-00 Civic Si[in slightly different tune] . with the B16A swap you would need a new CPU, wiring, axles, transmission, mounts... pretty much everything under the hood [and then some!]

the stock specs on the ZC motor run around 130hp [at the flywheel]
and the stock specs on the B16A run around 160hp [at the flywheel]
your stock D16Y6 [for comparison] is running about 108 [at the flywheel]
[sorry not sure about torque]

this is what i know to be true [if you can prove me wrong... more power to ya!]

the TQ on our monstor 1.6's is 100 even,

r u planning a swap???

i really like the ZC cuz no majot work is involved with it,,and id try that myself
but the b16a is something i may have to get done somewhere
and having to get basicly a full swap is gonna cost more then,,just a ZC motor

anyone have any average prices ont he ZC or b16a swaps??
cant u get a LSD in the b16a???

thanks mike

i was planning a swap and was using the same logic as you were [ZC for easiness]
but then i got into the Autocross scene and having a engine swap bumps you up to prepaired class [which is quite competetive] and i dont feel like dealing with that.

so im going to focus on handling

prothane bushings
koni sports
eibach prokit
few tie bars here and there
some light 15" or 16" rims with race rubber
and i will have one lean mean street machine!

for JDM engines go to JDMHondaParts

i autoX my teg now,,
and im in SM cuz of my CF hood

but in the st louis region, there r only about6 cars in the class
and i can usually come in 3rd out of all of them

and i run on street tires, while most others have road race tires

so i wouldnt care if i was bumped up a class,,that is if i autoX the civic
