Hayden is fine. Any stacked plate cooler will be sufficient, stay away from "tube-and-fin" design.

I don't see the need for a better tranny cooler if your car is not producing extraordinary heat...

Hit up ebay and look for a used one. Any "oil cooler" can be used as an auto tranny fluid cooler too.

Setrab is a pretty good brand that you'll find a lot of on Ebay.

401(sub-compact car) aluminum finish

It's smaller than I expected too. It's like 3/4" thick, 12 3/4" in Length, and 7 1/2" in height.
didnt have time to install it today, so I'm prob gonna do it tommorow....(procrastination)

Can someone please tell me where the stock transmission cooler is located?
I was pretty sure it was the front black peice that loops around with two hoses connected to it, but I disconnected one of them for about 3 secs and yellow fluid came out..(DOH!) isn't transmission fluid usually RED?
Someone please help me out here,

You got a tube-and-fin design. Hayden also makes a stacked plate tranny cooler, which would be a better choice, for about the same price. It probably doesn't matter anyway, though. Really, you should incorporate a thermostat into the cooler setup so that you do not OVERCOOL the fluid. Overcooling can cause just as many problems as overheating. Unfortunately, the thermostats I have seen for tranny coolers run $250-$300. They are rated at 185 F, optimal temp for an auto tranny.

You really should use a oil temp gauge to determine if you even have a need for a secondary cooler in the first place.

you really only need a tranny cooler on larger vehicals or those that tow and really tax the tranny. Otherwise, an oil cooler would be a better option (which you could most likely use the tranny cooler for)

Well, a tranny cooler is an oil cooler. The key is getting the correct size for a particular application so one doesn't overcool the fluid (which is why a thermostat in the system is particularly important).

My Hayden 677:

It currently is not installed. I became concerned that it might be overcooling the fluid. I wouldn't reinstall it at this point without a thermostat.
