Default Got me some Panasports!

Well, I finally bit the bullet and forked over the loot to buy a set (6) of "perfect" condition Panasport Ultra Light 14x7 from a buddy of mine...Max offset that will fit under the fenders on a miata (think it is 27).

I have been making excuses to not buy these things for at least a year now.

Anyway, does anyone have definitive weights for these things? I haven't been able to track down a definitive or documented weight for 14x7 ultra lights on the web. Some random guy was spouting lots of odd info, and his site said 10.5 lbs...

Anyway, just posted this to find out about weight, brag about my pimpy new wheels, and put Phatty on notice that I will be kicking his *** later in the year.

Before you mount the tires, grab a wheel and put it on a regular scale. What good is an internet weight if yours are different!

We did that once a while ago with a 14x7, but now I forgot what the weight was. Sorry

Oh don't worry, will definitely be doing that. I just don't have them yet to do so, and I am bored at work, trying to avoid actually working.

11 lbs.

That was for the 14x7s I used to run back in my C/DSP days.

Well, if that's the case, then that is about 4lbs less per wheel than what I was running, so 16 lbs total weight. Then you factor in the fact that it is rotational weight, and unsprung, and two conclusions come to mind:

1) I am slowing going the direction I need to go for a Top 3 finish at the ARRC (watch your back, Alex) and

2) I am going to whip all your behinds on karts Saturday.

Thats an excellent idea. Running 14x7 Panasports on a kart!!!
I'll even help you swap them on to the little bastard.

Make sure you have the right bolt pattern. I think its something like 4x25.
And Shultz is being a little flacid boy. I already smack talked him but he won't hitch the ride with you.

I figured I wouldn't need the weight reduction for the karts, as I have been dieting in preparation. If i follow through with my plan of not eating for the rest of the week, I should be down to about 155, then you factor in the lightheadedness, that has to save another 5-10 lbs.

Shultz being flacid? who woulda thunk it! Probably some excuse about work, as if he really has a job...we all know he makes 6 figures from NASA to have the position of "Whipping Boy" about all things ECHC related.

No it is 6 figures: 000,000!

Anyway, now all the car needs to be back on track is a hood, paint job, finishing touches on the cage (window net, harnesses, etc) and some tires. And all I need is some cubic $$$$

You keep having those good races, and winning those ECRs, while I sit at my desk and forget how to race, and I will be the one hoping to show up on the radar.
