Anyone have an Apex VTEC AFC?
Yes it will help
Install shouldn't be too bad. Under $100 I would imagine. I did mine myself. Install really isn't that bad if you know a little about your ECU and pinouts.
Tuning is the key. Dyno time will be between $60-$100 per hour.

the vafc can make decnt horsepowe depending on your mods and tuning. But, to answer your install question. the shop that tuned it quoted me 260 to install it, they estimated a 4 hr install. i however installed it myself (which i had planned to do, i just wanted to see how much money i saved).
i worked at a leisurely pace and was done in about 3.5 hrs. so to find out the cost of installation, you need to know the shops labor rate. it definetly shouldn't take anymore than 4 hrs or you getting ripped off.

The original quote from a local shop was like $90, but I lucked up on the install charge because I threw the V-AFC in with some other stuff that's they're putting on that I couldn't do w/o a lift, so basically he's not gonna charge me anything ('cause he's gonna rape me for the flywheel install anyway
).
And yeah, they're worth it if you get it a/f dyno-tuned. If not, it's basically an expensive VTEC point adjustment device. DO NOT attempt to adjust the fuel settings without dynoing your car 1st on a wideband dyno! If you screw up the settings and lean it out too much you're screwed.
Every car is different (even if the other person has the same mods as you) and other people's VAFC settings may not work safely on your car. If you need any more info on them, do a quick search; I did one and it turned up 50 archived topics on this subject.
I got mine a week ago (new in the box) from a guy on eBay for like $270. He still had like 5 left last Friday for $225 each + shipping. Do a search on ebay and see what you can find, they (VAFC's) are almost always on there for at least $100 less than retail.
Good luck dude.

Yeah, I know, but at least he wasn't asking for setttings...
I'm getting mine put on Friday, but I'm having a problem locating a dyno nearby so I won't get to reap the benefits just yet...
