Default Benefit of spacers?

I realize that spacers widen the track. Have many people done this with their Rs here? I take it there must be increased stress on the suspension components when using them. What size are people using and do the wheel studs need to be extended? If they do, how difficult is it to do?

Any insight is appreciated.

1) stud extensions.... depends on what width spacer you plan on using.
2) most people do not do this to "widen" their base... instead to fit on appropiate tire widths they want to run.
3) if you have an impact screwdriver and a nifty press, its not hard at all...compared to doing it by hand. ask me how i know..
